Reading, Writing, & Coding: Summer Enrichment Sessions to Enrich Your Kid

Do you want your kids to be as ready as possible for the coming school year? Are you concerned that they’ve gone through a bit of “learning loss” over the summer? These are reasonable concerns. Indeed, you want your kids to get the most out of summer, so it makes all the sense in the world to have them take some classes where they can learn while having a great time. That’s what our enrichment sessions can be. Here at Anita Tutor, our summer enrichment sessions can help children in a variety of ways. 

Reading 

Our “Rigorous Readers” classes are exactly that: a way for kids from anywhere between 2nd and 8th grade to enhance their reading skills. Every session, they’ll read nonfiction and fiction stories as well as passages. Then, there will be a thorough discussion in addition to comprehension questions. Through all of this, they’ll not just improve their reading, but improve their understanding, too. 

Writing 

At Anita Tutor, we believe in improving your child’s writing skills by helping them to form their own writing techniques. In our writing workshop, we do that through the creation of paragraphs and essays, yes, but also in such assignments as opinion writing, expository writing, and first-person narrative. Through this exploration, we’ll help your child to strengthen their writing, through work, graphic organizers, and other tools. With this, your child’s writing skills will translate to any other kind of writing that they have to do. 

Coding 

Coding is one of the most important and valuable skills that a young person can learn. At Anita Tutor, we can help to give your child the jumpstart they need to be able to enter the world of programming. Through our coding classes, your child will learn the fundamentals of programming. That includes multiple data types, loops, and even conditionals. By the end, they’ll be able to write their own Java programs. 

English Language, Eastern & Western Armenian 

With our English Language Development classes, speaking English as a second language won’t hold your child back by the time they enter middle school. In this class, offered from Kindergarten through the 5th grade, kids will be able to improve their literacy as well as their confidence. Our Eastern and Western Armenian classes are for all ages. These focus heavily on reading and writing, but they also include conversation and plenty of fun, enriching activities.
